Frequently Asked Questions

Your Questions, Answered

  • Your intake forms are a critical part of your medical care, not just paperwork.

Completing them at least 24 hours in advance allows your provider to:

    • Review your full medical history in detail

    • Analyze symptoms, medications, labs, and goals ahead of time

    • Identify patterns and root causes before your visit

    • Use your appointment time for strategy and solutions, not data gathering

Incomplete or late forms may require your appointment to be rescheduled, as we want to ensure you receive the highest level of care possible.

  • Conventional medicine is often designed to:

    • Treat symptoms

    • Focus on disease management

    • Rely heavily on medications as the primary solution

At Wild Roots Wellness, we believe healthcare should be proactive- not reactive. Our approach is root-cause, integrative, and personalized.

We focus on understanding why symptoms are happening — not just how to suppress them.

Instead of waiting for disease to develop, we look for:

    • Early metabolic dysfunction

    • Hormonal imbalances before they become crises

    • Inflammation patterns

    • Gut dysfunction

    • Stress dysregulation

    • Nutrient deficiencies

    • Insulin resistance before diabetes

While  prescriptions absolutely have their place, we believe the foundation of health is built through:

    • Blood sugar stabilization

    • Sleep optimization

    • Stress regulation

    • Strength training and muscle preservation

    • Gut support

    • Nervous system balance

    • Sustainable weight management

Our goal is long-term health, not temporary fixes.

  • Yes- absolutely.

Wild Roots Wellness does not replace your primary care provider.

We strongly believe every patient should maintain an established relationship with a PCP for comprehensive medical care.

    What your PCP Does:

    • Annual physicals

    • Acute illness care (infections, injuries, urgent concerns)

    • Preventative screenings (mammograms, colon cancer screening, pap smears, etc)

    • Management of chronic diseases, complex or emergent medical conditions

    • Referrals to specialists when needed

These services are essential and we do not provide full-scope primary care.

    What we do:

    • Hormone optimization

    • Metabolic Health

    • PCOS Support

    • Gut Health

    • Weight management

    • Insulin resistance

    • Lifestyle and root-cause evaluation

Our role is to complement your care received by your primary care provider - not replace it.

    Think of It This Way

Your PCP manages general medical health and acute care.

    We focus on:

    • Optimization

    • Prevention

    • Root-cause lifestyle medicine

    • Functional support for chronic metabolic and hormonal patterns.

When both providers work together, patients experience the best outcomes.

  • We specialize in uncovering and addressing the root causes of complex, chronic issues such as:

    • Thyroid disorders

    • Hormone imbalances

    • Gut dysfunction

    • Weight resistance and metabolic health

    • Fatigue, brain fog, inflammation, and unexplained symptoms

These conditions often overlap, and addressing only one piece rarely leads to lasting improvement.

  • Root-cause medicine looks deeper than standard labs and surface-level diagnoses.

    We evaluate:

    • Hormone signaling and balance

    • Thyroid function beyond basic TSH

    • Gut health, inflammation, and nutrient absorption

    • Metabolic and insulin function

    • Lifestyle, stress, sleep, and environmental contributors

The goal is long-term healing, not short-term fixes.

  • Because your body is not a collection of isolated symptoms.

    Hormones affect metabolism.

Gut health affects inflammation and insulin resistance.

PCOS affects weight, fertility, skin, and mental health.

    Our programs are designed to:

    • Address root causes, not just lab numbers

    • Provide structure, clarity, and measurable progress

    • Include labs, visits, messaging support, protocols, and education

    • Create sustainable results — not short-term fixes

This approach leads to better outcomes, fewer setbacks, and higher patient success.

  • Our care is ideal for patients who:

    • Want answers, not band-aids

    • Are ready to invest in their long-term health

    • Value personalized, relationship-based care

    • Prefer a clear plan instead of reactive medicine

If you’re looking for a quick prescription or a single visit, we may not be the right fit — and that’s okay. Our goal is alignment, trust, and results.

  • At Wild Roots, we work in 3–6 month clinical phases, not quick monthly check-ins. Quarterly billing allows us to:

    • Design thoughtful, step-by-step care plans that actually move the needle

    • Avoid interruptions in testing, supplements, medications, and follow-up

    • Reduce administrative costs so we can spend more time on your care

    • Support consistency — because hormones, metabolism, gut health, and healing take time

Most meaningful changes in hormones, metabolic health, PCOS, and gut function do not happen in 30 days. Quarterly care supports better outcomes and less stress for our patients.

  • We do not offer single visits or pay-per-visit care because this type of medicine doesn’t work that way.

Hormone therapy, functional medicine, weight loss, PCOS, gut health, and metabolic health all require:

    • Ongoing lab interpretation

    • Dose adjustments and treatment refinement

    • Education, accountability, and follow-through

    • Monitoring progress over time

A one-off visit often leads to fragmented care, missed details, and frustration. Our program-based model ensures you are fully supported — not left to figure things out alone.

  • We intentionally operate as a cash-based medical practice so we can focus on you, not insurance companies.

Insurance-based medicine often limits appointment length, dictates what can be ordered, and prioritizes volume over personalization. By not contracting with insurance, we are able to:

    • Spend significantly more time with each patient

    • Provide in-depth, comprehensive evaluations

    • Individualize care without insurance restrictions

    • Focus on root-cause healing, not just symptom management

    • Offer transparent pricing with no surprise bills

This model allows us to practice medicine the way it was meant to be practiced — thoughtfully, thoroughly, and collaboratively.

  • You can still use insurance in certain ways.

    • Office visits, programs, and medical care are cash-pay

    • Laboratory testing can often be run through your insurance or as a discounted cash-pay option

We will help guide you on the most cost-effective lab option for your specific situation.

  • Lab testing is unique because many national laboratories can bill insurance directly.

    We offer:

    • Insurance-based labs (when appropriate and beneficial)

    • Cash-pay labs (often less expensive, especially for specialty testing)

    Cash-pay labs frequently:

    • Avoid high deductibles

    • Offer broader or more advanced testing

    • Provide clearer pricing upfront

We’ll always help you choose the option that makes the most sense for your health goals and budget.

  • At Wild Roots Wellness Center, we are a private-pay practice and are not contracted with Medicare or Medicaid. Due to federal participation regulations, we are unable to to see patients who are enrolled in Medicare or Medicaid plans.

We understand this may be disappointing, and we encourage patients with these plans to establish care with an in-network provider to ensure coverage of services.

Thank you for understanding and for considering Wild Roots Wellness Center for your care.
